AVIS HARRELL W/ HER SISTERS - "THE FABULOUS FAWNS!"

“THE FAWNS”

Were a very well known group on the East Coast out of Washington D.C.  This group of Sisters originated with Lead Singer and middle Sister, “Ayana Harrell” known at the time as Ann, from Anacostia High School and 3 of her classmates, Paula Smith, Toren Ragsdale and Muriel Bronson.  While she and older sibling Mildred Harrell, whom they call “Mia”, reined from Anacostia High School, AVIS graduated from Frank W. Ballou Sr. High in S.E. Washington D.C.  They continued their Music education at Howard University with private instructor Mr. Joe Harris Sr.

Being in this family group, prepared me even more for the world of entertainment and all the accomplishments I’ve made since performing with them. The love that my family and I have for each other made it possible for me to work with the other groups. My Sisters and family are in my corner 100 percent and we are still a very close net family. I want to thank all the managers, our Mother, Alfred Parker, and Clifford Alexander as well as all of the D.C. deejays for still playing our records and keeping us a part of D.C.'s

L to R:  Kevin Harrell has his own record company, "Dirty Game Production"  (He's a rap producer)  Ayana Harrell - Pittman has her own modeling agency w/ partner called "Sunniebabies" and is a writer,  Mia Harrell-Green works for the government, and Kevin (KD) Harrell is her son. Mom sings with the Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir and she & my  Dad still  reside in D.C., Avis/Vocalist-Entertainer, Timothy Harrell-sings w/FAME choir and was in the Ray Charles movie. Sir Elliott Pittman, (Ayana Harrell Pittman's son will probably be a doctor when he grows up.

So there you have it!  These are "The Fawns" and this is my family.  For those of you who care, to clear the rumor, Ms. Betty Swan, whom we think was a great singer was not a member of "The Fawns"
